Advertising
Laura started working in the London advertising industry back in 2009, working across a diverse portfolio of brands, from global, fully integrated campaigns to one-off projects and pitches (she’s still trying to beat her 7 for 7 pitch-winning streak). It’s that very same work that took her from London to Paris, and in 2016, to New York City, which Laura refers to as her adopted home.
Laura has worked for large global, network agencies to small, start-up shops as both freelance and full-time. She believes in a single philosophy that she applies to all her work — It’s not all about big budgets, it’s about conceptually strong ideas, beautifully crafted executions and making work that people genuinely care about.
A Responsible Clothing Brand.
Speaking of things people care about, back in 2019, Laura founded Fly By Night NYC a responsible clothing brand that creates pieces from dead-stock designer fabrics, vintage salvage, and movie-set fabrics (The Mummy, Snow White & The Huntsman, Renée Zellweger’s “Judy” [Judy Garland] and The Irishman, to name just a few.). Any and all scraps and threads are shredded and recycled in housing insulation.
What started as a passion, soon exceeded expectations and very quickly became a successful, fully-fledged female-owned and operated business, quickly being featured in a number of major publications and press, such as NYLON, The Business of Fashion, The New York Times and Teen Vogue.
Fly By Night’s pieces can be found across the continental U.S. and is currently in 10 nationwide boutiques. Along with a broad portfolio of private commissions, Laura’s work frequented the shoulders and silhouettes of Regina Spektor and Helena Christensen.
